The PPGA UFC/UNILAB is a Graduate Program in Social Anthropology which was conceived as an association between the Federal University of Ceará and the University for International Integration of the Afro-Brazilian Lusophony. The PPGA UFC/UNILAB aims to train high level researchers and professors, who can generate anthropological knowledge in accordance with the country social demands and who are able to contribute to the contemporary debate in the field of anthropology.
The objectives of the PPGA UFC/UNILAB are:
To offer academic qualification to future professors.
To train researchers adopting an interdisciplinary and critical perspective. The aforementioned perspective may guide the elaboration and the execution of research projects. Their byproducts must be disseminated through teaching, research and community work activities, which aim to strengthen the Graduate Program and to guarantee the improvement of the undergraduate career’s quality and, as a consequence, the improvement of the primary and secondary education.
To train professionals to work at public and private high education institutions, research institutes, and other governmental and non-governmental institutions where the training in anthropology is demanded.
To produce anthropological knowledge which contributes to the reflection and action in the local, regional and international spheres, potentializing the resources and the actual institutional infrastructure available at the UFC and the UNILAB.
